Guam's social app gateway - for those of us who aren't lucky enough to be supported by the big guys

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are the requirements for using TwitterNeni?
All you need is an active Twitter account and a mobile phone subscribed to a Guam or Saipan wireless carrier with texting capabilities. That's it and that's all.

How much does TwitterNeni cost to use?
We believe you shouldn't be charged for telling people what's on your mind, so there's no cost to send status updates as many times as you like through TwitterNeni. However, keep in mind that this does not include texting charges you may incur for your subscription plan with your wireless provider, such as for prepaid accounts. (We can't help you there.) Check with your provider to make sure.

Do I need to download or install any additional software?
Not at all. TwitterNeni uses only the SMS app that's already on your mobile device and nothing else.

How do I get signed up?
You won't be able to update your account through TwitterNeni until you've registered. So to do so, send a text message from a DOCOMO Pacific, GTA TeleGuam, IT&E or iConnect mobile phone to 9889598 and type 'username:username password' where username and password are the credentials you use to login to Twitter. You'll receive a confirmation message that you're able to use TwitterNeni. You'll only need to do this once.

Can I receive tweets, too?
Not at the moment, but we're working on supporting inbound message streams. TwitterNeni is currently a send-only service.

How can I find out about updates, cool features and more for TwitterNeni?
We're getting lots of positive feedback about our feature set, so follow @txtneni on Twitter and you'll get neat information about what we're working on, system updates, opportunities to beta-test our latest creations, and tons of other stuff.

Can I integrate my status updates with Facebook?
Yep! Just enable the Twitter app from within Facebook, and every time you post a tweet your Facebook activity stream will be updated in parallel, automatically! (This works whether you use TwitterNeni or not...but it's still cool when you do it with us.)

What if Twitter opens up its SMS to Guam users?
That's actually the goal. You'll be able to use either service - and we happily encourage you to do so!

Can I help or contribute to this project?
Absolutely! We're big advocates of open source technology, so if you'd like to participate, e-mail us or add us to your instant messaging roster if you use Google Talk or Jabber.
